I really enjoyed my experience at 808 old town. I tried the Reuben, House Salad, BBQ Fries and Slaw. The Reuben had great flavors. It came with a good portion House Salad and I chose their house made Ranch dressing. I then had the BBQ Fries. They came with Pulled Pork, BBQS Sauce, Spicy Ranch for dipping and Slaw. The Slaw was very good. The flavors were simple but nice. It went very well with the Pulled Pork and Fries. The Spicy Ranch was Spicy! However, the combination of great tasting Pork, BBQ Sauce and Slaw made this something I'll be back for. Although I liked the Reuben, I will probably try something different next visit. And there will definitely be a next visit.
Stopped here during breakfast hours before heading out to catch flight out of Kahului Airport. Food and service were excellent. Ample free parking spaces are located back of the building. Gluten-free options are available. Will visit again when visiting Maui in future.
Went to this place for a casual lunch and I have nothing but amazing things to say. When you walk in, it feels so casual and friendly. You feel like a street deli that that has a sandwiches for all tastes! I had the turkey sandwich with spicy pasta salad. The sandwich is light, flavorful, and filling. While the pasta salad has a warming spice that is not overpowering. They paired together very well but next time I go, I will give in to temptation and grab one of their burgers!! I will definitely be back!
Excellent food and service! We had the fish sandwich and the mushroom beef dip with fries. Prices are super reasonable and the servers are outstanding (shout out to Alba)! Don't miss if you are in Wailuku!
To start this off this is not about the service, our server and busboy were fantastic. This is about the quality of food. Before changing new owners this was a go to spot to eat. Everything made from scratch delicious quality for a great price. However the focus isn’t on quality anymore it’s on their profit. 1st off I ordered the shiitake melt and my girlfriend ordered the strawberry salad with “candied walnuts and walnut vinaigrette “ how can I put this nicely, the salad was abysmal except for the dressing. They may have put two grains of sugar on each walnut but you cannot say they are candied. The chicken tasted like it was boiled in water tossed in a trash can and put back on the plate. As for the shiitake beef melt. You are falsely advertising this sandwich, they are bell button mushrooms in the sandwich not shiitake. It was subpar especially with the wrong fungus among us. Last but definitely not least. I was so excited for pudding, one thing that this restaurant was known for, world famous almost! The waitress came back after asking for lilikoi pudding and said that they are stopping the puddings , they had a lemon pudding with butter cookies and a blueberry lemon loaf which was 100% from Costco. I got the pudding thinking of the last time I had their pudding. This was a store bought lemon pudding not sour and tasted like sweet lemon floor cleaner from the store and again it had graham crackers not the butter cookies as advertised. Cutting down on quality to use ingredients bought from Costco has turned me away from here forever. Putting profits over the quality of the food will lose you business in the long run. I sincerely hope you consider thinking about quality instead of the quantity of money you had hope to make by taking these lazy shortcuts. I will be driving 35 minutes to Kihei now to go to the real 808 whose quality is impeccable and pudding indescribable. I want to reiterate that the waitress and busboy were AMAZING. The food left something to be desired.
