Wow, this place has so many reviews, thanks mainly to the tourist folk.
ATMOSPHERE:
The always-packed eatery is located in the Azeka Shopping Center next to Peggy Sue's. All indoor & outdoor seating on cool surfboard-shaped tables are communal with posted signs encouraging the sharing of personal bubble space. Thankfully we did takeout as I love my space, especially when eating lol.
MENU:
Seafood apps, salads, chowder, tacos, sandwiches, rice plates, fish/shrimp & chips, pasta.
FOOD:
Shrimp & Chips
My request of doing half shrimp and half fish with chips was denied. The seven pieces of breaded shrimp were on the smallish side, possibly even frozen, but deep fried perfectly and not oily, with a generous portion of shoestring fries, a cup of coleslaw, and cocktail sauce & ketchup for dipping. Very mainstream but good.
SERVICE:
Friendly and helpful gal was taking orders. Our takeout order took about 20 minutes as they were pumping even at 2 in the afternoon. A friendly guy brought our package out to us, double checked the order, and thanked us. Very good service!
OVERALL:
The words "coconut" and "fish" definitely riles up the tourist folk, LOL.

Great place to grab takeout tacos and fries for dinner at Charlie Young Beach. The fries were fantastic, small McDonald's size but so much more flavorful... Nice little dusting of paprika.
Pork tacos were tasty. Wish there was a smaller size available.
Large indoor seating area, but also a popular spot to grab takeout. Located on the second floor, up a set of stairs.
Large shared free parking lot.

Great location, friendly staff, the happy hour menu was great and the food was delicious. Coconut shrimp was crispy and tasty, the poke was amazing, and the fish tacos were fresh and amazing.

This is an unassuming restaurant located in a strip mall just off of the beautiful beaches of Kihei, Maui that offers delicious fish tacos, fresh ahi & shrimp salads and yummy poke. (I understand they have another location, not too far away that probably serves similar dishes.) The advantage of this location in particular, is the bakery downstairs that fills the air with the smell of the tastiest cinnamon rolls. The portions here are generous and the quality of the seafood is superb. No frills when it comes to service; place your order at the counter, find a seat & wait for it to be delivered to your table. We had a large party of 12 and were able to all sit together, a nice perk for us. But they did forget one person's order, which was kind of a bummer because he had to wait so long for his food, most of us were finished eating ours by the time his arrived. So we shared some of our food with him while he waited. Not a problem since the portions were so large. Overall, I recommend Coconuts Fish Cafe with two thumbs up.

Reached Maui today and decided to try this place for dinner. First when we entered the place we were told we could sit out. It was windy! And less lighting. I live to eat outdoors! Don’t get me wrong! But this was odd. You order at the counter and pay and they bring the food to you. The food came out fast for sure. We tried various dishes. Sorry for the bad photos!! But it was fish and chips, steak tacos, wagyu cheese burger, local grilled mahi mahi over rice, coconut shrimp and ahi poke! The food was decent. Can’t complain! But I don’t know if I’ll go back there again or recommend it!
