I recently dined at Paia Fish Market on the South Side and had the fish and chips. The fish was mild and absolutely delicious, making it a highlight of the meal. The tartar sauce was fantastic—definitely a standout! However, the coleslaw left something to be desired; it was a bit too mayo-heavy and lacked that zing I was hoping for. The chips were more like shoestring fries, which didn’t quite hit the mark for me.
On a positive note, the local beer selection was great, adding a nice touch to the meal. I also tried the Magic Sauce, but it didn’t quite have the kick I expected from its name. It reminded me of Taco Bell's mild sauce with a hint of sweetness, which was a bit underwhelming. Overall, there were some hits and misses, but the fish and tartar sauce made for a decent experience.
Service was excellent!!!

Our dining experience was absolutely amazing! We got there at 7:30 p.m. and went straight to the ordering counter at 8:20 p.m. And guess what? Our food came out right away at 8:27 p.m. The Blackened Ahi Tuna was so tender and tasty. The salmon burger was also delicious, especially with all that extra coleslaw. The staff was super friendly and helpful the whole time. It was totally worth the wait!

Loved this place when we went to Oahu. Tried the South Side restaurant for lunch and it was pretty good, too. Not as good as the last time though. Ordered the Ono blackened. It was seasoned well, but way over cooked. It had the tenderness of a hamburger patty. My daughter’s salmon, on the other hand was cooks perfectly. I will still go back. Lunch time is the way to go as dinner is a line longer than the women’s restroom at an Angel’s game.

Fresh, Flavorful, and Totally Worth the Wait!
Paia Fish Market in Kihei blew us away! The portions are massive, the fish is incredibly fresh, and the flavors are spot on. We tried the fish tacos and the Cajun-style snapper with Cajun rice and house potatoes—every bite was absolutely outstanding.
Yes, it was crowded (because everyone knows how good it is!), but it was totally worth the wait. The staff was super friendly and kept things moving quickly, so we didn’t mind the hustle and bustle at all.
If you’re in Maui, this spot is a must. Great food, generous portions, and that laid-back island vibe that makes dining here a total win. Don’t miss it!

the wait was not too bad around 7:30pm. got the mahi mahi in cajun style with fries (like 28$) and deep fried shrimp appetizer ($9) was very fresh and piping hot. yum! seating is self and this place can be crowded but would recommend it if the wait isn’t too bad!
